Government schools have underperformed despite spending massively on administration

untitled

The graph above shows that government spending on “education” has increased massively while all outcomes have been flat.

If this model were implemented by the private sector, everyone associated would be fired and the system would declare bankruptcy.

Even worse, the spending has been directed disproportionately toward “administration” rather than actual instructors. See here.

U.S. government agencies have been caught repeatedly altering arctic sea ice records

horror1

Once again, the courageous data analyst Tony Heller has caught U.S. government agencies altering ice history records to make the past seem colder than it was measured (and thereby make the present seem warmer in comparison).

Now, Heller and others have uncovered previous government reports showing arctic ice levels growing substantially in the 1970s. More recent government reports (often generated by the same agencies) have erased this record of sea ice growth in the 1970s–so that the government can promote its theory of manmade-global-warming-by-carbon-dioxide (which in turn, boosts the government’s demands for more power and money to ‘solve’ the alleged problem).

Greenland has gained 300 billion tons of ice since September 1

According to Tony Heller (who generally uses Danish DMI data), Greenland has gained 300 billion tons of ice since September 1, blowing away all records for ice gain.

Trump has selected Myron Ebell, a gifted skeptical scientist, to run the EPA

myron

Government supporting journalists and professors are gnashing their teeth regarding Donald Trump’s selection of Myron Ebell as head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Ebell is a gifted scholar of climate science. Here he is debating a pro-government scientist about the 2008 Climategate emails.

Here he is speaking about the inconsistencies between government temperature models and actual temperatures,–and the insidious nature of the UN’s various climate agreements.

January 13-16, 2017: Join us for ‘mountain climbing inside the Grand Canyon’

grand-canyon

“Lose 15 pounds in 3 days hiking and climbing in the Grand Canyon!”

January 13-16, 2017 is a three-day weekend celebrating Martin Luther King.

For anyone planning on being in the greater Nevada/Utah/Arizona region in January, Lysander Spooner University will embark on a one-of-a-kind field trip in honor of Dr. King.

Few people are aware that there are ‘mountains’ inside the Grand Canyon. The mountains are rarely explored or climbed.

We will meet Friday evening, January 13 in the lobby and dining area of the El Tovar Hotel on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Over the next days we will journey into the abyss of the Grand Canyon and try to bag as many internal peaks as we can.

Everyone is welcome. The event is free!* Instruction on climbing and survival will be offered along the way.

Prepare for a winter outing as the Rim is above 8,000 feet.

Call Roger Roots at 406 * 224 * 3105 for details.

* There are costs, such as entry fees, food, gear, etc. (Bring your own!) We are planning on day-hikes and returning to the Rim each evening. Lodging is on you!

The reality of socialism: Fidel Castro lived in constant luxury as his subjects starved

silenced

Socialist politicians promise equality and free stuff but deliver impoverishment and tyranny.

Here is a New York Post article about the luxurious life of Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Castro lived a life of absolute luxury. He had dozens of mistresses and kept a dozen private palaces for himself. He even had pet dolphins.

Virtually anyone who offended or threatened Castro was executed. Castro’s victims number in the thousands.

Dissidents were jailed for as little as handing out books on democracy. “Even his closest aides faced execution if it suited [Castro’s] agenda.”

Even Castro’s daughter fled Cuba for her safety.

While his suffering subjects starved on the streets and lived like savages, Castro had access to the finest food and wine.

Washington Post’s “fake news” smear exposed as McCarthyite propaganda

pamphleteer

Days ago the Washington Post published (and energetically advertised) a “news story” alleging that the 2016 Trump election was produced by “hundreds” of “fake news” stories created by Russian propagandists. (Of course, the Washington Post itself has been identified as a government CIA propaganda mouthpiece by numerous whistleblowers.) (Senate hearing in the ’70s and ’80s showed that Post “reporters” have secretly received millions of dollars from U.S. government sources in exchange for pro-government news reporting.)

The November 2016 Washington Post story was widely circulated. Hundreds of other newspapers repeated the claims.

At the heart of the Post’s “reporting” was an appeal to authority: a group of “foreign policy experts” calling themselves “PropOrNot” who remain anonymous (but who clearly favored Hillary in the election).

Now the intrepid Glenn Greenwald has rebutted the Post story in a path-breaking article:

According to Greenwald, the Post claimed that “Basically, everyone who isn’t comfortably within the centrist Hillary-Clinton/Jeb-Bush spectrum is guilty” of spreading Russian propaganda.

The group eschews alternative media outlets like these and instead recommends that readers rely solely on establishment-friendly publications like NPR, the BBC, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Buzzfeed and VICE. That is because a big part of the group’s definition for “Russian propaganda outlet” is criticizing U.S. foreign policy.

“What happened here is the essence of fake news,” according to Greenwald. imagesU01CBR45

Prosecutors increasingly stack indictments with multiple counts in order to ensure convictions

American prosecutors have learned that conviction rates generally go up when additional charges and defendants are added to criminal cases.

Consequently, state and federal prosecutors routinely stack indictments with multiple (repetitive) counts so that juries will be more likely to convict defendants.

A study of thousands of criminal cases found that when a defendant is charged with one count, he has a 66 percent chance of being convicted; but when he is charged with three or more counts, the conviction rate goes up to 78 percent.

And when a defendant faces three or more counts, he has an 88 percent chance of being convicted of Count 1 (which is generally the most serious count).

See this detailed law review article by Andrew D. Leipold, “How the Pretrial Process Contributes to Wrongful Convictions.”

U.S. government temperature data tamperers have erased 1940s warmth in Iceland

The intrepid data analyst Tony Heller has been monitoring the government’s official temperature records for years.

The U.S. government’s temp database (maintained by NASA and NOAA and directed by Gavin Schmidt of NASA’s Goddard Space Institute) has been “adjusted” thousands of times to make the past seem colder than it was recorded.

The government agencies appear to be making the “adjustments” to the temperature history in order to promote the government’s manmade-global-warming theory.

Now, once again, Heller has caught NASA tampering with the temp history for Iceland. The agency has virtually wiped out the heat waves that occurred in Iceland during the 1940s. See here.

Starving Venezuelans flee socialism on life rafts

Socialism is a curse that should be wished only on one’s most hated enemies.

Here is a New York Times story about hungry Venezuelans fleeing their socialist country by the droves.

Just a couple decades ago, Venezuela had the highest standard of living IN ALL OF LATIN AMERICA.

But just 17 years after the people voted in a socialist ruler (Hugo Chavez), Venezuelans survive by eating cats and dogs and diving in trash dumpsters. Government soldiers distribute all food and medicine.

In the aftermath, 150,000 people have fled the socialist hellhole.
