Aug. 21: Evils of the Minimum Wage

industr

On Day 2 of 2015 Montana-State-University “Catapalooza,” we will be providing another great course: “Evils of the Minimum Wage.”

This will be at the outside tent of the Libertarian Party, on the MSU campus grounds. Check in by 11:00 am. Lecture will be 45 to 90 minutes. Handouts will be provided. Exams will be given out by noon.

Many people are tricked into thinking that minimum wage laws help poor people or that they have no negative impacts on the economy.

In fact, more than 100 peer-reviewed studies have established that minimum wage impositions or increases are strongly correlated with increased unemployment. Unemployment, of course, is correlated with almost every measure of social illness, including arrest data, poverty (obviously), and admission to mental health facilities.

In this course, students will learn about the evils of minimum wages. Specific anecdotes and social-science research will be provided.

Cost: $5

See you there!
