Another College “Disinvites” A Speaker for Presenting Governmentally-Incorrect Views

America’s colleges overwhelmingly promote–often with government funds taken by force from taxpayers–an extremist, pro-government, socialist and elitist doctrine.

Now Williams College, a once-prestigious liberal arts college in Massachusetts–has banned a speaker from an event after inviting her to speak. See here.

It is the greatest irony that Williams College had begun to recognize that its faculty, curricula and administration have increasingly trumpeted a one-sided, extreme pro-government ideology; the “disinvited” speaker (Suzanne Venker) had been invited as part of the College’s “Uncomfortable Learning” lecture series, purportedly aimed at offering students a small bit of diversity.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education has an entire website listing many dozens of “disinvited” speakers who have been banned from government-controlled campuses over the years. See here. Although the site depicts such instances of campus censorship as arising from differing sources (i.e., “left” or “right”) close scrutiny shows that most of the disinvited speakers offered a position, experience or argument that dissented from the general ‘cult of the omnipotent state’ ideology governing American universities.

(Note that a handful of disinvited speakers on the list were well-known government tyrants or torturers, and their disinvitations stemmed from students objecting on “human rights” grounds.)

European Union Votes to Give Edward Snowden Asylum

There was a time–decades ago–when the United States were considered the freest soil on earth.

Now the international community increasingly recognizes that the U.S. government is among the world’s most totalitarian states–especially with regard to the U.S. government’s vast surveillance and takeover of cyberspace, cell, and internet technology.

This past week, the European Union voted (by an unfortunately close vote) to grant whistleblower Edward Snowden asylum status anywhere in Europe.

The EU considers Snowden’s alleged whistleblowing acts as humanitarian activities. See here.

Many U.S. government officials want Snowden tried, imprisoned or executed for treason or “espionage” for exposing the government’s unconstitutional surveillance of its citizens.

Government Solar Power Plant Actually Emits MORE CO2 Than a Fossil-Fuel Plant (Per Unit of Energy Produced)

The Ivanpah Solar Power Plant in the desert of Southern California cost U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars.

Yet “it is producing carbon emissions at nearly twice the amount that subjects fossil-fuel power plants to California’s “cap-and-trade” program. See here.

The plant uses large amounts of natural gas to substitute for times of low solar output.

3,500 birds were “fried” by the solar plant in its first year.

And the plant produces nowhere near the level of electricity of a regular power plant.

Good News! Antarctican Ice Not Melting!

Perhaps they didn’t get the memo.

NASA released an exhaustive study yesterday (Nov. 30, 2015). See here.

NASA’s study admits that “Antarctica is not currently contributing to sea level rise, but is taking 0.23 millimeters per year away.”

Antarctic ice is now at the very largest levels ever recorded by satellite. See here.

A new climate record: America goes 10 years without any serious hurricanes

American weather has apparently gotten slightly milder even as it cools. October 24, 2015 “marked a full ten years since a category 3-5 hurricane last hit the United States. (Hurricane Wilma in 2005; Sandy hit as a Category 2,)” according to climate writer Paul Driessen. See here.

That’s a record dating back at least to 1900. It’s also the first time since 1914 that no hurricanes formed anywhere in the Western Atlantic, Caribbean Sea or Gulf of Mexico through September 22 of any calendar year.

Government Admits that “Affordable Care Act” is Causing HIGHER PRICES

“Underperforming bailout-style programs (expiring after next year) designed to artificially hold down rates, sicker-than-expected risk pools, and stagnating enrollment projections.”

These are, according to columnist Guy Benson, the ways that promoters of Obamacare underestimated costs and unintended consequences of the “Affordable Care Act.” Premiums are rising an average of at least 7 percent annually (despite $5,000 deductibles), and consumers in some states are facing increases of 20 percent or more.

More Anti-Government Polling Data: Americans Prefer a Government Shutdown to Continuing Growth in Government Spending

Our masters in government never tire of reminding us that Congress must raise the debt ceiling and keep government growing.

“Conservative” insiders say that voters will punish Republicans if Republicans in Congress ever challenge the President’s spending increases and “shut the government down.”

But new polling shows–OVERWHELMINGLY–that a large majority of voters WOULD PREFER A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN to a continuous raising of the U.S. debt limit without assurances of spending cuts.

73 percent of Republican voters said Congress should raise the debt ceiling only if President Obama accepts substantial spending cuts. A SUPERMAJORITY–74 percent–say it is worth a government shutdown to force spending reductions. See here.

44 percent of DEMOCRATS were also willing to close government to force spending cuts. Overall, A 50 PERCENT MAJORITY SUPPORT conditioning any raising of the federal debt ceiling on drastic spending cuts, and 11 percent OPPOSE BOOSTING THE CEILING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Congress to Actually Investigate the Government’s Temperature “Adjustments”

Trusters of expansive, invasive, intrusive government frequently tout the government’s claims that global temperatures are rising due to human-released carbon dioxide. These claims are used to promote various socialist reforms including higher taxes and more government controls.

But the claim of global warming rests only on theory, computer “modeling” and government (and government-funded) earth temperature records. Satellite and weather balloon temp data SHOW NO WARMING WHATSOEVER IN 18 YEARS, even as rates of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have grown.

Making the government’s claims even more suspicious is the fact that government-supported scientists at NOAA and elsewhere have been routinely caught “adjusting” land temperature records. They claim such adjustments are entirely scientific.

But skeptics point to the fact that the government temperature “adjustments” tend to make the past seem colder than originally measured.

Efforts to see the government scientists’ methods or formula for their “adjustments”–including even Freedom-Of-Information-Act requests–have not produced the records.

Now, a congressional subcommittee is looking into the matter, according to the Washington Post.

Two Schoolboys Criminally Charged with Insulting Turkish President

Every government ultimately comes for all freedom, all property, all money, and to kill all who resist. Only the vitality of the private sector stands in their way.

Now two small children in Turkey are being criminally prosecuted for tearing down a poster of their purported government master, Erdogan.

During the past two years, artists, journalists and schoolchildren have all been targeted for allegedly insulting the almighty Erdogan.

Union loudly pushes $15 minimum wage–then quietly seeks its own “exemption” from its impacts!

Socialists and trusters of central planning are notorious hypocrites.

But here is a story about the AFL-CIO that “takes the cake.” The AFL-CIO loudly promotes raising minimum wages around the country.

(Some 100 peer-reviewed economic studies have established that raising (or imposing) a minimum wage is linked with higher unemployment rates–especially for those at the lowest socioeconomic levels).

In LA, the AFL-CIO successfully lobbied the City to impose a $15-per-hour minimum wage. Then the AFL-CIO (behind the scenes) sought an exemption from the minimum wage for its own workers! See here.

In Seattle, a Socialist group which had been pushing for a $20-per-hour minimum wage law–often claiming that wages lower than $20 were inhuman–recently posted a job offer for an experienced professional web developer. The socialists offered $13 an hour. See here.
