French government interferes in Romanian election by seeking to censor Romanian anti-government content.

The Telegram chat communication platform says that the French government pressured it to use censorship to interfere in then-upcoming Romanian elections.

Big-government-advocating globalist elites have waged a war against Romanian democracy, overturning the 2024 presidential election by claiming the presidential winner was secretly backed by Russia. (Romanian courts “annulled” the victory of conservative Călin Georgescu with claims that Georgescu was secretly promoted by Russia.)

Then–after banning and even arresting Georgescu on bogus charges, Romania scheduled a second election. But the pro-government-extremist elites AGAIN interfered in the people’s vote. As The Gateway Pundit reports, “a scandal has already tainted the ‘re-do’ of the vote that was originally cancelled when now-banned right-wing Calin Georgescu appeared to be unbeatable.”

Telegram says a Western European government — hints that it’s France — asked it to block conservative voices in Romania ahead of today’s presidential election.

CEO Durov says he ‘flatly refused’, calling the request undemocratic and warning: ‘You can’t ‘defend democracy’ by destroying democracy’.

“On August 24, 2024, Durov was arrested at Le Bourget Airport near Paris as part of a French National Judicial Police investigation into criminal activity on Telegram.”

“He was indicted on twelve charges, including complicity in distributing child sexual abuse material, drug trafficking, and money laundering, as well as refusing to cooperate with authorities by not providing requested information.”
