Virginia “animal welfare police” seized giraffes from private zoo. But without facilities to care for giraffes, Virginia ‘held’ the giraffes at the same zoo for 18 MONTHS. Then one giraffe died while being transported.

Natural Bridge, Virginia. June 2025. You can’t make this stuff up. Way back in December 2023, the Virginia State animal police descended on a private tourist zoo (“the Natural Bridge Zoo”) with a heavily armed SWAT team. The government had received complaints (apparently from pro-government-extremist “animal rights” type advocates) that the private facility was neglecting or abusing the zoo’s various animals.

The Commonwealth of Virginia “seized” and claimed ownership of dozens of rare and exotic animals, including four giraffes. But few facilities in the United States are equipped to house, feed and care for giraffes; so the State police decided to CONTINUE HOUSING the giraffes (which were now claimed to be the Commonwealth of Virginia’s giraffes) at the Natural Bridge Zoo (yes, THE VERY ZOO that the government claimed was abusive and neglectful of the giraffes) for some eighteen months.

Now 1 of 4 giraffes is dead after being transported by the government.

According to Cardinal News, one of the four giraffes (named Valentine) recently died during transport from the Virginia zoo to the giraffes’ new facility. Government officials are denying that the transportation of the giraffe caused the death–and even insinuating that the giraffe died from a drug injection by the private zoo owners before the transport. But videos of the government’s transport operation show clearly that the giraffe was trembling from fear during the ordeal and was handled roughly by transporters. In fact, the government transporters crushed the giraffe’s neck between heavy equipment and a cargo container.

STAY TUNED!!
