A global movement by governments and elites to impose mass censorship on social media platforms has arisen over the past decade. This movement has become intertwined with the “left” worldwide. Even in the United States, where “the left” was formerly identified with free speech advocacy, this change is palpable.
In Brazil the forces of censorship are led by the dark judge Alexandre de Moraes, who issued a series of tyrannical censorship orders and decrees. This “judge” often acts in secret, without indicating what process is used to make his censorship decisions.
- Moraes has issued a series of rulings aimed at eliminating former Brazillian President Jair Bolsonaro from Brazilian politics. Moraes has claimed Bolsonaro led a plot to overthrow Brazil’s government and undermine the country’s democracy after his 2022 “election loss.” (The data and most observers indicate Bolsonaro actually won the election.)
- Moraes has waged war against Elon Must and Twitter/X–issuing decrees that X must comply with Moraes censorship regiment.
- When Musk and X resisted Moraes’ control, Moraes seized the Brazilian accounts of Musk’s OTHER company Starlink–a company with no connection (other than a common owner, Musk) with X.
- Moraes has also ordered the video platform Rumble to comply with censorship. When Rumble refused, Moraes has sought to enforce the censorship demands even within the United States.
- Now, Donald Trump Media companies and Rumble have filed suit in US District Court in Tampa, alleged that the evil judge’s previous orders “censor legitimate political discourse in the United States.”
